After plenty of anticipation and time spent in test phases, Land Rover has revealed its new Evoque Convertible.
The biggest change is the all-new fabric top. Insulated and crafted to maintain the Rover’s sleek profile, it retracts into a “Z” shape similar to the top on a Porsche 911 Cabriolet.
Land Rover’s new convertible can fully retract in just 18 seconds and return back up in 21 seconds, all while cruising at speeds of up to 30 miles per hour.
The new layout is fit for four, but the down side of the convertible top is the major reduction in storage space with a rear cargo area of only 8.9 cubic feet. Also included is Jaguar-Land Rover’s updated In Control Touch Pro infotainment system with a standard 10.2-inch screen.
Evoque sports classic Land Rover power with a 2.0-liter, 240-hp four-cylinder engine that’s paired with a nine-speed transmission.
Available in two trims, Land Rover’s much anticipated convertible starts at $51,470.
