Making a surprise appearance at the Tokyo Motor Show last week was Mercedes-Benz’s new concept car, the Vision Tokyo.
Designed with tech-savvy Japanese buyers in mind, the Vision Tokyo looks like a lounge-style van and is both fully autonomous and hydrogen-powered.
The Vision Tokyo is 188 inches long, 82 inches wide, and 63 inches tall with a wide digital grill that can be configured to display a variety of patterns and colors that puts a spotlight on its design.
A top-hinged gullwing door allows passengers into the cabin built for up to five with a white oval couch. A jump seat is built into the couch should a passenger get the urge to drive.
The Vision Tokyo’s small hydrogen-powered electric drivetrain can go 120 miles on just electricity and boasts a total driving range of 608 miles.
