Porsche has continued its 2017 power surge with each new model—the Carrera 4, Carrera 4 Cabriolet, and Targa 4 and the S version of each—benefitting from some version the 3.0 liter twin-turbo flat-six engine debuted in the 911 Carrera and Carerra S about a month ago.
The new models also receive a new electro-hydraulic all-wheel drive system that is faster than their rear-wheel drive peers.
The twin-turbo flat-six produces 370 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque for a zero to 60 time of 4.1 seconds in the Carrera 4 with the PDK and Sport Chrono package.
The Carrera 4S has 50 extra horsepower and 38 more lb-ft of torque to drop the zero to 60 time down to 3.8 seconds with the same equipment. The Cabriolet and Targa models are slightly heavier and their times increase 0.2 seconds all around—or as Porsche would call it it, “the time it takes to blink.”
On the inside, Porsche has given the infotainment system a fresh new look with a 7-inch multi-touch display featuring internet radio and Google Street View.
