The recently-leaked, all-new, yet-to-be-released X4 M40i builds off the excellence of the X4 and adds a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six engine capable of producing 355 horsepower and 342 pound-feet of torque.
An upgraded eight-speed automatic transmission speeds the car to its electronically limited top speed of 155 mph, and it can go from zero to 62 mph in just 4.9 seconds. Additionally, a sport-tuned incarnation of BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive system comes standard in the new model.
The X4 also gets an updated look with a new front bumper with strips of chrome trim, several “M” badges, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a slightly altered rear bumper with two round exhaust tips.
Inside, the cockpit is detailed with a unique three-spoke, multi-function steering wheel, an upgraded instrument cluster, and new sill plates. Experts believe sport seats will also be included in the BMW.
Although the M40i looks much like its predecessor, the 35i, it’s faster and more powerful.
