Deliveries of Embraer’s new Legacy 450 mid-light jet is set to begin by the end of this year. The Brazilian aircraft maker’s new jet just achieved U.S. certification along with certifications from European and Brazilian organizations.

As the first jet in its class with sidestick flight controls and full fly-by-wire technology, Embraer’s plane sports a digital control system for smoother flight and improved performance.

With room for up to nine passengers in the flat-floored cabin, passengers will be able to travel efficiently with a range of 2,963 miles. That’s long enough to travel from Boston to Los Angeles without stopping.

The Legacy 450 is powered by two fuel-efficient Honeywell HTF7500E jet engines able to reach top cruising speeds of more than 540 mph. Pilots will enjoy the Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics suite with four 15-inch displays, an optional head-up display, and synthetic vision.

Embraer’s Legacy 450 is priced from $16.57 million.
