Although not as expensive as some of his work, a home once belonging to Michelangelo Buonarroti (yes, the Michelangelo) is on the market for $8.4 million.
The world-famous Italian painter, sculptor, and architect purchased the Tuscany, Italy, villa back in 1549. Now an iconic piece of history, the Florentine painter’s expansive home is nestled in the green hills of Castellina.
With eight bedrooms, seven baths, and original wood-beamed ceilings, there’s plenty of room for relaxation and entertaining, as well as imagining Michelangelo at work.
His property remained in the possession of the Buonarroti family until 1867, but is currently in the possession of a private owner who’s completed major restorations to keep the property up-to-date.
With plenty of lush Italian land and views of the Chianti vineyards, an original oil mill, and a lemon and olive grove, the new residents might find some artistic inspiration of their own.
