Land Rover has just revealed its first fully armored model—the all-new Range Rover Sentinel. Passengers will feel safe in the ultra-durable vehicle complete with advanced life-saving technologies.
Built around a six-piece passenger cell crafted from super-strong steel, it’s capable of withstanding 7.62-millimeter high-velocity bullets. The ultra-durable Sentinel is also strong enough to deflect DM51 grenades and a 33-pound charge of TNT.
An anti-tamper exhaust system, backup battery, emergency escape system, and a self-sealing gas tank help to keep both passengers and the car safe from harm. Even though the Sentinel is stacked with safety upgrades that make other cars seem flimsy, it looks just like a regular Range Rover from the outside.
Customers can choose to add a fire suppression system for the cabin and engine bay, as well as a loudspeaker and customizable siren for added oomph.
Land Rover’s new model is powered by a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine capable of producing 335 horsepower and a powerful eight-speed transmission.
Hand-built in Oxford, England, the Land Rover Range Rover Sentinel starts at around $450,000. No word yet on U.S. availability.
