Actress Sela Ward and her venture capitalist husband Howard Sherman have listed their resort-style Bel Air mansion for $39.995 million. The couple originally purchased the incredible 8-acre estate for just $3.8 million in 2003.
With a miniature golf course, man-made beach, and a 100-seat outdoor amphitheater, the property has everything a celebrity owner could dream of. The actress originally decided on the expansive property because she wanted her children to spend time outside, like she had growing up in Mississippi.
The pair completed extensive renovations after purchasing the home and rebuilt the mansion with reclaimed wood from Mississippi and Louisiana. Hand-selected antique doors and French building materials give the home its unique charm.
Ward’s 12,000-square-foot main house has five bedrooms, a 30-seat movie theater, a massage room, an outdoor kitchen with pizza oven, an infinity swimming pool, and a small greenhouse dubbed “l’orangerie.”
A large 100-seat outdoor amphitheater complete with a kitchen and bar is the perfect spot to host events, while a vineyard, gazebo, and footbridge provide an air of idyllic charm.
