It’s been a year of change for actor Patrick Dempsey. Between his character’s controversial departure from “Grey’s Anatomy” and separating from his wife Jillian Fink, it’s not surprising that the star and his ex have sold their Malibu, Calif., mansion.
Designed by Frank Gehry, the 5,547-square-foot home sold for more than its asking price at $15 million. The house is nestled in 3.23 acres in the foothills above Zuma Beach and is the ideal private retreat.
With an outdoor living area complete with an al fresco kitchen, swimming pool and spa, pergola-shaded dining area, rock climbing wall, and outdoor shower, why would anyone want to leave?
The Malibu estate also features a chicken coop, equestrian facilities, organic gardens, and, much to the pleasure of “Grey’s” fans, a fully restored Airstream trailer for guests.
The main living areas offer high ceilings and plenty of space to entertain, while three bedrooms and three-and-a-half baths keep everyone comfortable.
The property’s been snapped up by billionaire Sid Bass, scion to a vast oil fortune. Although Bass was the subject of controversy in the past, he should be able to relax in style at his new Malibu mansion.
