From high-end cars to bicycles, carbon fiber seems to be the go-to material. Now British designer Kris Lamba has designed a modern chair made from a single sheet of carbon fiber.
Crafted from a single 65-foot-long piece of carbon fiber, the RV1 Carbon Chair is completely unique and offers several sitting positions. Its large indents make it possible to flip the chair and select a different seat.
Made from carbon fiber and resin, the RV1 is available with a white or black-tinted high-gloss finish. It’s even ergonomic with digitally calculated stress points to allow for slight give depending on the seating position.
Lamba was inspired by a visit to a wind tunnel where he was able to watch jet testing. He imagined a piece of furniture that would fit continuously in that environment.
