German designer Konstantin Grcic has created a unique new chair called the “Sam Son Chair.” The chair was created for Italian furniture company Magis and features unique cylindrical shapes.
Exaggerated arms not only offer support, but also look as if they were molded from clay. A suspended seat shell is positioned between a horseshoe-shaped component, which gives structure to the chair. Grcic created the piece from two rotational moldings by pairing rigid plastic in the base and elastic polymer in the upper aspects.
Almost cartoonish in nature, the unique chair has four cylindrical legs to offer both a sturdy seat and an interesting conversation starter. The Sam Son is available in four different colors.
