Charles and Ray Eames released their iconic Eames lounge chair and ottoman back in 1956. Since then their work has inspired similar products of leather and molded plywood. Danish company Davone has recently been inspired by the classic look to create their Ray-S speakers.
The unique speakers blend traditional craftsmanship with a modern look and advanced audio technology. Ray-S is held up by a modern, laser-shaped stand of 25-mm thick steel to complete the sleek design.
The Ray-S has a three-way speaker system with an eight-inch woofer built of hard paper cone to deliver optimal sound with very little distortion. Davone also developed their new product with a fluid cabinet shape to offer more balanced sound than traditional tower speaker shapes.
Ray-S speakers are handcrafted in Denmark and retail at $7,500 for a pair.
