After seven years on the market, the Fiat 500 needed a makeover. The retro-styled vehicle is getting a new look for the 2016 model year. The new design is a complete reboot for the subcompact car.
The 2016 Fiat 500 features a new grill, headlamps and bumper design as well as LED running lights. While the vehicle’s general shape and size remain the same, the updated cabin design is more sophisticated and comes complete with a five-inch display and high-tech infotainment system. Fiat also updated the chassis for a smoother low-speed driving experience.
Customers now have the option of opting for the 500 hatchback option, and European buyers will also be able to choose from three different engine varieties. The 0.9-liter TwinAir engine comes with either 85 or 105 horsepower. There’s also a 1.2-liter engine model with 69 horsepower. Last, the eco-friendly 1.3-liter, 16v Multijet II turbocharged diesel unit has super-low emissions.
The all-new Fiat 500 will make its grand debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show.
