Dionisio Gonzalez received acclaim last year with his surreal disaster-resistant architecture. This time around, the Spanish artist’s structural creations offer sustainable and habitable homes in unique designs.
Gonzalez’ new series “Trans-actions” features architectural visualizations that look straight from the future. The unusual structures provide space for retreats, workplaces, mobile observatories, hydraulic structures and stationary zeppelins. His designs inspire awe and surprise, and the surreal structures don’t necessarily take cues from the environment they are set in.
The “Trans-actions” buildings are all set on thin pillars or buttresses of reinforced concrete. Stilted and strange, the buildings leave plenty of open area at ground level. One thing is sure—Gonzalez’ architectural formations are sure to leave an impression.
