British furniture designer Robert Scott’s Waiho table is redefining modern décor. Recently exhibited at Collective Design 2015 in New York with gallery Todd Merrill, the table was crafted through hand-carved stack lamination and laminate bending. Scott describes the piece as an exploration of “the relationship between user and object by inviting interaction through touch.”
Reminiscent of the effect of wind and water on rock, Waiho is both a freestanding sculpture and a table. The designer says it should be experienced differently from every angle.
Look, touch and feel, but definitely don’t put your feet up.
