Brabus has taken Mercedes’ somewhat tame S500 plug-in hybrid sedan and turned it into a beast called the PowerXtra B50 Hybrid.
The vehicle is still gas and electric. However, Brabus has modified the gas-powered 3.0-liter V6 engine to pump out 385 HP. Combined with the electric motor, the PowerXtra B50 Hybrid now churns out a total of 500 ponies and will hit 60 MPH from a standstill in just under five seconds. It is electronically limited to 155 MPH.
Brabus has added a new body kit that makes the car more aerodynamic. Other changes include a redesigned front bumper, a trunk-mounted spoiler, and air diffuser. The fender and side skirts are now made of carbon fiber. The 20-inch alloy wheels also help cut down some of the weight.
The luxurious leather seats and added digital LED screen in the backseat cap off this Brabus customization.
The PowerXtra B50 Hybrid has gone on sale in Brabus’ home country of Germany. Pricing details are only revealed to serious buyers.
