BMW was the first luxury automaker out of the gate with an app that integrates their vehicles with the Apple Watch. Now Mercedes-Benz is following suit with an app of their own.
Called the MB Companion App, the app will work in conjunction with the Mercedes-Benz’s COMAND Online infotainment system. Among the features is navigation. Put your destination in the Apple Watch and when you start your Mercedes-Benz, the address will be transferred to COMAND, which will give you step-by-step driving directions. Turn off the car and the Apple Watch app will help you complete the trip with step-by-step walking directions.
The app will have other features such as audio control over the car’s speakers, fuel economy monitoring, and maintenance tips.
The app will only be compatible with late-model C-Class and S-Class vehicles with COMAND Online. Mercedes-Benz plans on launching the app officially in the fall.
