Astell&Kern recently unveiled the AK380, a $4,700 portable music player. The device is geared toward audiophiles and music professionals who demand the very best sound quality.

The music player is meant to be the company’s new flagship product. It has a unique, artistic design so when it is on display it doubles as a conversation piece. It is crafted from aircraft-grade Duralumin, giving the player a futuristic look. Artistic styling aside, the shape of the player and all the materials are designed with a focus on audio.

The music player supports various file types, and audio can be streamed via Wi-Fi. The device is controlled via a 4-inch touchscreen that runs a version of the Android operating system that has been tailored for the specific use of the AK380. The AK380 has 256GB of internal storage, which can be expanded even further with a microSD card.

The Astell & Kern AK380 will be available starting next month.
