The Mercedes-AMG GT3 is the race version of the GT sports car, and the company’s second go at creating a consumer racecar.
The 6.3-liter V8 engine has been beefed up for the GT3 to give the car some extra power.
It is the exterior body work that has gotten the biggest upgrade to reduce weight and increase aerodynamics. The frame is constructed from aluminum and the engine cover, doors, front ring, and diffuser are now made from carbon fiber.
The matte gray paint job and massive rear wing make this unmistakably a racecar. The car is also equipped with a rollover cage.
The Mercedes-AMG GT3 is currently undergoing testing and will be participating in races over the summer as part of that testing. It is expected that the car will be ready for production by the end of the year. Pricing details have yet to be revealed.
