Piano maker Steinway & Sons has unveiled the Spirio, a self-playing piano with high-tech features and legendary craftsmanship.
“The music generated by the Spirio is recorded by measuring not only hammer strikes, but hammer velocity; not just pedaling but proportional pedaling,” the company said in a press release.
The piano has Bluetooth technology and works with an iPad app that has 1,700 songs stored and ready to play.
The piano is designed to reproduce a natural human performance and an experience akin to hearing the great artists play their songs live.
The Spirio carries a $110,000 price tag. Buyers will also receive a complimentary service plans that include four scheduled annual appointments for tuning up the piano.
