The Corvette Z06 is an impressive vehicle; few would argue that it needs more power. The new Corvette Z06 C7.R limited edition is inspired by the actual C7.R race car, but it does not increase horsepower, instead it focuses on stopping power.

The regular Z06 pumps out 650 ponies with 650 pound-feet of torque, the same as the C7.R edition. The latter is upgraded with Brembo carbon ceramic brakes and Sticky Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires for premium grip and stopping power.

“The Z07 Performance Package enhances overall performance to make the Corvette Z06 one of the most track-capable cars you can buy off the dealership floor and still drive it to work every day,” Harlan Charles, the Corvette’s Product and Marketing Manager, said. “Combined with the 650-horsepower supercharged LT4 engine, true aerodynamic downforce and performance technologies such as Magnetic Ride Control, Performance Traction Management and an electronic limited slip differential, the Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition offers capability matched only by an elite fraternity of the world’s supercars and special-edition exclusivity that is sure to make it an instant collector’s item.”

The exterior has received some aesthetic upgrades. It has the Corvette Racing Yellow paintjob, though it is also available in jet black. The Brembo brakes are also done up in yellow. The exterior has carbon fiber accents added to the ground effects and hood.

The interior continues the yellow theme with the stitching. There are also carbon fiber additions on the inside with the trim and plates.

The Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition will be limited to just 500 examples.
