Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith’s California mansion in the Hancock Park area was recently put on the market with an asking price of $16.1 million.
The Italian-style home has a total of 15,000 square feet of living space. It is three stories and has 13 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. It has plenty of room for entertaining guests, with a two-story banquet hall and a large dining room with hand-stenciled ceilings. The home also has a library, four elegant fireplaces, and an elevator, so stair climbing is not required.
The mansion sit on a 1.5 acre lot that has an organic and rose garden and a beautiful pool.
The home also has some history to it. It was built by Gordon B. Kaufmann, who designed the Hoover Dam. Barack Obama once held a fundraiser in the home.
Banderas and Griffith bought the home in 1999 for $4.2 million. In 2000, they bought the home next door and demolished it to make room for gardens and a pool. The home is being sold ahead of the couple’s soon-to-be finalized divorce.
