Josh Hamilton, one-time MLB MVP, is selling his California mansion with an asking price of $16.5 million.
Hamilton is going through a tough divorce that is likely the reason the Newport Coast home has ended up on the market. The home acts as a centerpiece for the exclusive Crystal Cove community as it is built at the highest point, causing the home to sit above the rest and also giving it exquisite views of the ocean.
The home has six bedrooms in total with 10,850 square feet of living space.
The home also has several amenities for those with specific tastes. Are you a wine connoisseur? Then the large wine cellar will be a big selling point for this home. Are you a gearhead? The gigantic eight-car garage will have you excited. Are you a movie buff? Check out the high-tech movie theater. Still not entertained? Maybe you can hang out in the game room for a little while.
The home also has an elevator for navigating the three story home and vaulted wood-beam ceilings. There is a large terrace on the top floor where you can get panoramic views of the Pacific.
Hamilton filed for divorce back in February after reportedly relapsing into substance abuse. Hamilton’s wife, Katie, was blindsided by the divorce, according to TMZ.
Hamilton is currently recovering from surgery and MLB rumors say the Los Angeles Angels have agreed to trade him to the Texas Rangers upon his return.
