Unveiled recently at the Shanghai Auto Show, the 540C is the most affordable model to date by British supercar maker McLaren.

The second car in McLaren’s new Sports Series, the 540C is inspired by race cars. For proof of that, look no further than the carbon fiber chassis and lightweight of 2,890 pounds, with much of the exterior crafted from aluminum.

The name of the vehicle comes for the 540 PS (or 533 HP) that the car’s mid-mounted 3.8-liter twin turbocharged V8 engine churns out. The vehicle combines power and light weight to propel itself from 0 to 62 MPH in just 3.5 seconds.

The McLaren 540C will have a price tag $165,000.
