Wearable sleep trackers collect data on sleeping patterns. Using that data, you can try to figure out why you are experiencing disruptions in sleep. Chrona claims to be a wearable-free alternative to optimizing your slumber, all you have to do is sleep.
Chrona is a memory foam insert that is placed in the pillow case. It tracks sleep cycles based on your movements. When it detects you are in deep sleep, it sends out a low-frequency sound that, according to studies, is supposed to help maintain deep sleep and provide other cognitive benefits such as improved memory.
Chrona also has a “Perfect Wake-Up” feature. This feature plays a higher frequency as your wake-up time approaches. This moves you from deep sleep to a relaxed state of sleep before the alarm goes off. As a result, you wake up gradually, as opposed to a sudden awakening.
Chrona maker Ultradia has already produced a prototype and turned to Kickstarter to fund production. The project already surpassed its $50,000 goal.
You can secure a Chrona for $99.
