Several designers including the Campana brothers and Raw Edges contributed unique furniture to be included in the Louis Vuitton Portable Furnishings Collection.

“The collection pays homage to the house’s special orders of the past – such as the iconic Bed Trunk or Wardrobe Trunk – and adds a defiantly contemporary spirit,” read a press release from Louis Vuitton.

The collection features 16 pieces, with seven new additions unveiled at Pallazzo Bocconi in Milan earlier this month.

Among the designers contributing to the collection for Louis Vuitton were Patricia Urquiola, Fernando and Humberto Campana, Barber & Osgerby, Nendo, and Raw Edges.

“We liked the challenge of working on a collection of collapsible objects,” A rep from Raw Edges said. “Usually the focus is on how to make collapsible objects very small and flat. In this project we mostly focused on how to make them look large, surprising and with real presence when they are expanded.”

Louis Vuitton plans on actually selling some of the pieces in the collection as limited-edition items. Other pieces are only prototypes and are one of a kind.
