To mark the 50th anniversary of the death of famed architect Le Corbusier, Cassina, in collaboration with designer Jamie Hayon, have created a collection of tables called Reaction Poetique.

“I wanted to create useful objects for the modern home such as trays and side tables, but with sculptural elements interplaying forms, light and shadow” Hayon said. “It was a very strict, almost religious challenge to use only one material and one finish, exercising my design philosophy. I feel this restriction actually became an opportunity to showcase the beauty of the wood, along with the expert mastery of Cassina’s carpentry workshop.”

The tables are inspired by Le Corbusier’s use of natural shapes and minimalist designs. The collection features four uniquely designed tables of different sizes. All the pieces are handcrafted from ash wood, stained black, and topped off with a low-gloss finish.

The collection is not yet on sale but will be on display at this years Milan’s Salone Del Mobile.
