Keurig coffee makers are certainly popular and GE is trying to get in on that popularity with the GE Cafe Series refrigerator, which has a Keurig K-Cup Brewing System built into it.
“Over the last couple years, GE surveyed Café French door refrigerator consumers who have the hot water feature; they asked us, ‘When can we have a refrigerator that dispenses coffee or tea?’ In fact, two-thirds said they’d be interested in a single-serve hot beverage dispenser,” Dan Goldstein, refrigeration marketing manager for GE Appliances, said. “This inspired GE and Keurig to pursue the development of the industry-first, built-in, single-serve brewing system from a refrigerator.”
The fridge is stainless steel and makes the Keurig coffee process even simpler by drawing and filtering water with the refrigerators built-in water filter so there is no reservoir to fill.
The GE Cafe Series refrigerator will even connect wirelessly to your smartphone, so you can schedule brewing times using an app.
The GE Cafe Series is scheduled to go on sale in the third quarter of 2015. It will retail for around $3,300.
