The new Acura NSX was unveiled to the world at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show and is supposedly going to offer the performance of a luxury supercar at a competitive price. The price tag of the vehicle will reportedly start at $150,000.

“The soul of a car is the emotional connection it makes with the driver,” Mike Accavitti, senior vice president of Honda’s Acura division, said. “With the NSX, that connection will be intense and immediate.”

The NSX will make a connection with the driver with a nine-speed transmission and a twin-turbocharged V6 engine that pumps out 550 horsepower mounted behind the seats. Each front wheel will be powered by an independent electric motor. A third electric motor is housed between the engine and the transmission.

You may remember that Acura actual debuted the exterior design of the NSX back in 2012 as a prototype. Acura felt the car was underpowered at 400 horsepower at the time, so its engineers went back to the drawing board. The car is now ready for full production, though an official production date was not announced.
