The Miito is a kettle that avoids wasting energy by boiling just the water you need using “heat induction.”
“Induction is a very efficient way to transfer energy,” Chudy said. “We estimate a cup of water will boil within one minute.”
The way it works is the base contains an electromagnet, while a metal rod is used to conduct the heat. Place the rod into the cup and heat induction occurs and only heats the water you need with no energy wasted. After the liquid is heated to a boil, the Miito goes into standby mode so the liquid can be removed and the unit can be cleaned.
The Miito is still in development and there is currently no timetable for mass production. If you are interested you can keep up with the progress of the Miito by email.
