A project in the Netherlands by construction firm Heijmans and design firm Studio Roosegaarde called Smart Highway is beginning to test Glowing Lines on roadways.

Designed to increase visibility and safety, Glowing Lines utilizes luminescent paint. The paint gets its power to glow from the sun during the day and glows for up to 10 hours after the sun sets.

Currently, Glowing Lines is being tested in the real world on a highway in the Netherlands. If the tests are successful Heijmans and Studio Roosegaarde will launch Glowing Lines globally.
