La Compagnie, based in France, recently announced the July launch of their airline service. The service will only cater to business class.
“Those who fly business class look for service at a reasonable, affordable price, especially after a long period of consolidation in the aviation industry and the skyrocketing airfares that are offered,” Peter Luethi, former Jet Airways COO and co-creator of La Compagnie, said.
La Compagnie will only fly four to five times a week from Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris to Newark International.
The company will launch with only one aircraft. The plane will seat 74 passengers in angled seats. The flight attendants will reportedly be outfitted in the latest of fashions. Passengers will also enjoy Samsung tablets, Wi-Fi, and meals prepared by French chef Christophe Langree.
Ticket prices start at $1,600 and go up to $4,600. Tickets will go on sale in late June. If the launch goes well, La Compagnie plans to add a second plane to their fleet in December.
