Academy Christophe Colomb Hurricane watches by Zenith are revitalizing their collection by launching a limited-edition series paying tribute to three South American revolutionaries.
The three-timepiece collection consists of watches honoring Simón Bolívar, Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara, and Emiliano Zapata.
These three watches utilize three major discoveries in timekeeping including a gyroscopic gimbal setup designed to negate gravity’s effect on the piece, a fusee-chain transmission, and a cadence of 36,000 vibration per hour.
The timepieces have a Latin American flair to go along with the Latin American leaders they represent. The watches’ back cases feature artwork that is hand-painted and hand-carved into the case.
The Christophe Colomb Hurricane Revolución edition will come in a mahogany box that can pull double duty as a 200-cigar humidor.
The entire set costs $1,257,000 or $419,000 for each individual watch.
