The fifth car in Bugatti’s six-part Legends Series is called the Black Bess and is based on the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse and pays tribute to the famous Type 18 vehicle.
The car’s exterior is crafted from carbon fiber that has been painted black and features alloys wheels. The Black Bess features 24k gold accents on the exterior on various parts of the car’s body.
Under the hood, the Black Bess sports the same specs as the other vehicles in the Legends Series. It has an 8-liter W16 engine that will pump out 1,184bhp. It will reach top speeds of 254mph, making it the fastest convertible in the world.
The interior of the Black Bess is fully upholstered with fine leather that has been dyed to a light khaki tone. The steering wheel has a crimson-red leather trim to distinguish it from the rest of the interior’s color. Red stitching also lines the seat belts and outer bolsters. To honor the Type 18, sketch artwork of the legendary vehicle adorns the leather.
Only three Black Bess vehicles will be produced. Each carries a $2.98 million price tag. The car will go on display at the Beijing motor show on April 20.
