It was a home so expensive that many market experts claimed it could not be sold, but Los Angeles’ most expensive estate was purchased late last month for $102 million. To add to the story, no one is sure who the buyer of the home is.
The 50,000-square-foot Fleur de Lys estate is a French-style mansion that was purchased by a mystery buyer for cash.
Many sources have come forward claiming to know who the buyer is. One newspaper out of Los Angeles reported that the estate was purchased by the nonpartisan think tank the Milken Institute. The Milken Institute denies those claims. Others have simply described the buyer as a “French billionaire.”
The purchase has made history as the most expensive home sold in Los Angeles history. It features 12 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, a two story library, wine cellar, a commercial kitchen, and a staff dining room and office. The property the house sits on is 4.6 acres and features a tennis court, pool, and beautiful scenery.
The original asking price was $125 million. It has been on the market since 2007.
