The 2014 Corvette Stingray has a 6.2-liter V-8 engine produces 455 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The car will go 0-60 mph in under four seconds. It is available in both a seven-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic. The gas mileage is noteworthy: It gets 17 mpg in the city and an impressive 29 mpg on the highway. The way the 2014 Corvette achieves such great gas mileage is by shutting down four of its cylinders when they are not needed.
The new Corvette is available now. The price for the base model starts at $53,000. The top-of-the-line model with a sports performance package costs $63,800.
It’s a beauty, but still a dream for me. No cash………..
Disappointing styling from the Cadillac division. Trying to excite a younger crowd with all the hard lines and edges. Very cluttered and another step back from the 1962, the 1965-69 and the C-5 anniversary Z06 in 2003 that I just sold. GM has emasculated the Vette division and adding a couple of HP every year is not going to fix it.
Wow! That’s one UGLY butt!
Wow — a lot of junk in that trunk! Too busy — go back to a simple more elegant line.
Finally GM is waking up and producing something people will enjoy to look at. The Corvette has had one ugly, boring makeover time after time since the 60’s. The interior however still needs some help…too round and cushy.
I would rather buy a 1995 corvette with 300 horses from a 6 cylinder or 4 cylinder all aluminum block and head, all carbon fiber body with aluminum frame 8 speed automatic transmission weight of 2200 lbs with 50 mpg for $ 50,000. With the original ROUND TAIL LIGHTS.
Needs more innovation like:
How about a touch screen dash with apps. for the dash display or a touch screen display below the window and on the steering wheel.
Power from two hydrogen fuel cells, solar panel skin, touch screen display lights, black and anaconda paint scheme, gull wing doors, touch screen entry locks with palm print recognition, coffee and cold water dispenser, clip on carbon fiber surf board rack, clip on I-pad holder, all carbon fiber storage space with zip tie fasteners, removeable padded fabric washable liner and cover, etc.
