Maximilian Büsser & Friends (MB&F), the Swiss watch manufacturer, created the Legacy Machine No. 1 (LM1) in 2011. It featured many firsts, including the world’s first vertical power reserve and a bespoke 14mm diameter balance wheel floating over the center of the dial. MB&F are now releasing a sequel to this watch, the Legacy Machine No.2 (LM2).
The LM2, was designed by Jean-François Mojon and Kari Voutilainen. It hosts two balance wheels, which have been strategically positioned beside each other and are mirror images each other. Another feature that sets the watch apart is a differential placed at 6 o’clock. This mechanism transfers power to each regulator, receives individual timing rates from each balance, and transmits the average rate of the two regulators to the gear train, which displays time.
Legacy Machine No. 2 is available in 18k red gold, 18k white gold, and a limited edition of 18 pieces in platinum 950 that features a sky-blue dial. The red gold and white gold version of the watch will cost $156,000. The limited edition is priced at $190,000.
