Montblanc has released a collection of pens that celebrate Albert Einstein: The Albert Einstein Limited Edition of just 99 Pieces and Albert Einstein Limited Edition of 3000 pieces.
The Limited Edition of 99 pieces is a reference to the chemical element Einsteinium, which has an ordinal number of 99. It is crafted from 750 solid white gold. The body of the pen is covered with a skeleton net with a filigree overlay. The cone of the pen has Einstein’s most famous formulas engraved on it. The clip is bejeweled with a sapphire bowl of about 1.3 carats. Lastly, the Montblanc emblem is carved out of moonstone.
The Albert Einstein Limited Edition 3000 refers to the speed of light (3,000 m/s). The pen is platinum-plated while the cap is a dark blue lacquer. The barrel of the pen also has Einstein’s most famous formulas engraved on it. The pen features a 750 gold nib and a sapphire glass covered Montblanc emblem. This collection consists of 3,000 fountain pens, 1,500 roller balls, and 1,500 ballpoint pens.
