Ubuntu Edge is a device that combines a smartphone with the experience of using a personal computer.

The daring project was officially launched on Indiegogo a few days ago and aims to raise $32 million over the next 30 days. If the company manages to raise the money, the first 40,000 devices will be produced sometime in May 2014.

Ubuntu Edge will have a 4.5-inch, 1,280 x 720 display made of sapphire crystal glass, an 8MP rear / 2MP front-facing camera, and stereo speakers. Internally, the gadget will have a quad-core CPU, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. Other features include a dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and MHL support.
